As the UK construction industry is accelerating BIM adoption through many national level initiatives, now is the time to deepen BIM engagement throughout the supply chain through better procurement practices and practical guidance that can enable supply-chain engagement in BIM from the outset.
British Standards Institution (BSI), the national standards body of the United Kingdom, has led efforts developing world class BIM standards for the industry so far. To progress BIM adoption further, BSI UK has started educating wider supply chain in BIM through supply chain focused dedicated events.
As a proud member of BSI associate consultant programme, Dzen collaborates with BSI for BIM adoption at many levels. At the recent inaugural event hosted by BSI on 29th January 2020 in Milton Keynes, which focused on supply chain BIM adoption, our Managing Director and Principal Consultant – Rahul Shah was invited to speak at the event. He shared his thoughts on how supply chain can implement Information Management at their business level, effectively and efficiently.
“It is advisable to take some time and define your business level BIM strategy and agree key business outcomes you want to achieve before you make any investment in BIM hardware, software, processes and training.” – says Rahul Shah
